It’s been a while since I’ve posted on Brighterlouder, we’ve been a bit busy having a baby and then I started a new job which has been pretty all-consuming.  It’s been good fun, but creative technology has definitely been on the back burner.

I’ve had a shared hosting arrangement for a while and I host a few websites, with the idea that I can charge commercial customers in order to offer free or cheaper hosting to charities and small startup businesses.  After discovering certain limitations with my hosting, and finding it’s getting slower and slower, I’ve realised I need to move on.  For the new year I’ve decided to invest in a VPS web server so that I can offer faster custom hosting in order to expand the project, allowing the option of proper user and resource management so that each customer can have their own control panel and all the usual features you would expect from a web host.

Until now, I’ve not really made any money so it’s really been a project rather than a business.  But, as the people I’ve supported have started to grow their companies, they’ve wanted to be invoiced properly so really I need to professionalise and start to do things properly (and probably start filling out a tax return again).

So I’ve refreshed the design of this site with the idea of going forward under the name ‘Brighterlouder’ or some variation of that.  The vision is to offer fast, professional web hosting for local businesses with the option for web designers to manage their own webspace on behalf of themselves and their customers, and use any profits to support ministries and charities that would otherwise be stuck with one of the very budget hosts.

This won’t be an e-commerce based publicly available service, this will be about personal relationship and mutual support.  If you’re interested in finding out more, please get in touch with me at .
